An LCD TV is surely an outstanding item, both in terms of functionality and beauty. In this regard there is no comparison to make between the modern LCD TVs and the old “musty” cathode ray tube (aka. CRT) televisions. But combining it with the right LCD TV stand among all the LCD TV stands available on the market will make out of the mere item that it is, a sublime act of elegant art and this is what you should strive to achieve. 

And in order to make the right choice, there is a couple of points that should be taken in consideration. These points could be split in technical and artistic ones. 

But before going into the artistic part let’s talk about the technical requirements of good LCD TV stands. 

1. First and most importantly you should look for a stable material. If ,for instance, you were looking for an adjustable height LCD TV stand with an LCD wall mount-like fixing system then you should look for a high quality stable aluminum alloy.

2. You should also look for the maximum TV capacity. If your LCD TV weighs 70 lbs, then don’t even bother looking at LCD TV stands that can take less than at least 120 lbs. You have indeed to take in consideration the fact that somebody could lean against it. This could mean a new LCD TV stand. So take always real life probabilities in consideration. 

3. Look always at the recommended TV size. LCD TV mounts are not universal although there are some high end models that offer this feature. The recommended size is usually given in the form of an interval like 37″- 55″. Try to choose the one so that the size of your LCD TV in approximately the middle of the interval. This would be the ideal case. 

4. The surface treatment should be of a high quality. The way the surface is treated can make a BIG difference in the quality of the end product. The fact that a material is good in terms of stability doesn’t mean necessarily that it can resist to scratches. Just imagine how awful a scratched LCD TV stand would look. The right treatment can cure this deficit so be sure to look for this specification if the stand if made from some metal alloy. 

These are definitely the most important technical aspects that you have to take in consideration when looking for the right stand among all the LCD TV stands available on the market.  

As for the artistic aspect, I have only one advice. Look for something you can somehow identify yourself with. That’s all that matters.
